Renewal of passport only for limited period of two years without providing any reasons, is unjustified as it adversely affected job prospect of applicant
Petitioner-husband seeks to challenge the order whereby the application for renewal of passport was allowed, but it was recorded that 'No objection' is granted for renewal of passport of the petitioner for a period of two years. The Petitioner claimed that the renewal of his passport only for a period of two years has adversely affected his prospect of securing a job as a Commercial Pilot and as a result, he is unable to clear his dues.
A case had been registered against petitioner / husband and his parents due to matrimonial discord between him and his wife. He was required to pay maintenance per month to his wife and fees of children and also to pay instalments of the loan availed by the petitioner but due renewal of passport for a limited period, he could not could not secure his employment.
Magistrate ought to have assigned reasons if he believed that renewal of the passport of the petitioner had to be granted only for a limited period of two years. The order granting renewal of passport for a specified period is erroneous.
