India's well known and leading venture capitalist and Managing Director of digital brand claimed that some women entrepreneurs have uploaded defamatory content against him on websites like www.LinkedIn.com and www.indian ceo. Uploaded post stated that Managing Director of Managing Director had sent inappropriate response to women entrepreneur’s 'Christmas Greetings' and she had also uploaded a purported screen-shot of WhatsApp messages exchanged between her and Managing Director of digital brand. Said LinkedIn post was widely circulated on social media leading to defamation.

Prima facie, it cannot be said that Women entrepreneurs have no case whatsoever or are misusing their freedom of speech to tarnish/defame the Managing Director. Managing Director also admitted exchange of messages with Women entrepreneurs, though made claim that latter were disgruntled after rejection of their business proposals.

Women entrepreneurs have a right to exercise their right of freedom of speech, though courts have sufficient powers to pass pre-publication or pre broadcasting injunction.
