Publication of ‘Model Key Answers’ and inviting objections in recruitment examinations is necessary
Publication of key answers, is step to achieve transparency and to give an opportunity to candidates to assess correctness of their answers. An opportunity to file objections against key answers uploaded by examining body is step to achieve fairness and perfection in selection process.
Bihar Staff Selection Commission, having consistent track record of falling into errors at considerable scale in holding multiple choice objective type tests, in past, in relation to recruitment to various posts under State of Bihar, has not only failed to publish model key answers, but also resisted claim of one of the aspirants to know key answers, which were basis for evaluation of answers scripts.
The stand taken by Commission is that uploading of model answers may lead to filing of various cases before Courts of law, which causes unnecessary delay in publication of result and there is no mandate, either statutory or in nature of administrative instructions, for uploading of model answers. However, such decision of Commission of not publishing key answers and inviting objections from the candidates is evidently regressive in nature.
The Commission cannot be allowed to take the step, which is rather backward and which would adversely impact fairness and perfection in process of selection.
